The number of gas rigs were down by 11 to total 416. Oil rigs also took a hit, losing two for 1408.
Texas took the biggest loss this week, shedding seven rigs for a total of 860.
New Mexico was the next biggest loser with five for a total of 82.
Oklahoma lost three to total 186 and Kansas lost one for 29.
Colorado was flat on 63 and Wyoming was flat on 50. Utah was flat on 36.
Louisiana gained four for 109. Arkansas was flat on 17.
Ohio gained two for 25. Pennsylvania was flat on 66. West Virginia lost two for 24.
New York added one rig last week, its first, and was flat this week.
North Dakota gained one for 180. Montana was flat on 25.
California was flat on 35.
Alaska lost three for nine.
