“We’re actively working to neutralize a denial of service attack. We’ll keep you posted as the issue progresses. Your patience is appreciated.” eToro Twitter’s account managers have mentioned on their profile.
eToro goes down several hours since yesterday (Thursday, Jul 3rd, 2014 07:15 GMT) before the NFP – one of the major market movers news event. Many of their clients would have positions opened but were unable to control their accounts’ activities, while they have been offered to drop an email to eToro to close their opened positions and other online forms allowing them to submit manual positions’ adjustments requests.
The DDoS attack is still ongoing while eToro’s team are working to find a solution with an ongoing support to their client’s through social networks, emails, phones and other online forms.
At the moment of writing this update, the eToro’s servers are still not stable.
